Fans and followers of Kompakt, the legendary Label from Cologne, Germany, may well remember DAVIDOVITCH from his two releases on the Speicher Series (36, 39). After a long hiatus, the man from Lausanne is back with a vengeance: "My Black Side" is 'only' the first in a series of three EPs due out this fall/winter on the freshly founded tech/electro/house Label SPEEDLOUNGE – which can be seen as the wicked little brother of the Frankfurt-based peacelounge recordings. Nomen est omen: „My Black Side“ is about pitch dark soundscapes, sculpted by massive Techno beats, recalling the Detroit classics of the early and mid-nineties. The 9 minute long title track is followed by „Das Mode“, an equally dark sounding, yet more playful number. The "B-side" of the EP starts with „Boombastic“, a straightforward future techno classic traveling at 125 bpm. Track 4 ist „This Is My Dub“ and takes us back to a more relaxed atmosphere, a dark and foggy landscape of melodic fragments, beats and echoes from the main floor. Once the 30 minute trip is over, most listeners will be tempted to press repeat. >> next up: Davidovitch - MODA (nov 2015)
